Chargers sign OT Brant Weiss, waive Koda Martin

The Chargers made a roster move on Friday.

The team announced that they have signed offensive tackle Brant Weiss. Los Angeles waived tackle Koda Martin to clear space for Weiss on the 90-man roster.

Weiss signed with the Cardinals after playing for the Arizona Hotshots in the Alliance of American Football league earlier this year. He was also with Arizona for training camp and the preseason in 2018, but didn’t make the final roster.

Prior to going undrafted, Weiss played in 36 total games for the University of Toledo. Following his senior season, in which he started all 14 games at right tackle, he was named to First-Team All-MAC.

Adding Weiss gives the Bolts more depth at the offensive tackle position. He will be competing with five other members on the team for a roster spot.
