Chargers sign former AAF long snapper

Since the Alliance of American Football came to an end, former players from the league have been getting signed by NFL teams left and right.

The Chargers can be added to that list. The team announced that they have signed former Birmingham Iron long snapper Cole Mazza.

Los Angeles currently has two active long snappers on the roster with Mike Windt being the other member.

Mazza snapped for Nick Novak during their time with the Iron. Novak converted 13 of 16 field goal attempts (81.3-percent).

Prior to joining the AAF, Mazza spent four seasons at Alabama (2013-16). Over that span, he snapped the ball 583 times without a botched attempt.
