Chargers re-sign WR Artavis Scott to one-year deal

The Chargers are bringing back a young, talented receiver. The former Clemson Tiger impressed during the 2018 preseason before injuring his ankle. That cost him a season. Per Field Yates, the shifty receiver is back:

Scott is a perfect slot receiver for this offense. He was quick and decisive once the ball was in his hands. He also made some circus catches throughout training camp. Scott is the type of receiver that moves the chains. He is a good route runner that knows how to get open underneath. He can also catch it well. Those are the younger receivers you try and develop.

During the 2018 preseason, Scott hauled in eight catches for 82 yards and carried the ball once for another four yards. During his three years at Clemson (2014-2016), Scott caught 245 passes for 2,480 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also held return duties where he held a 23.7-yard average on 39 kick returns. Desmond King is the punt returner, but perhaps Scott could contribute on special teams as well.
