Chargers place FS Nasir Adderley on IR, activate OT Russell Okung

Chargers free safety Nasir Adderley’s rookie season has come to an end.

Los Angeles is placing Adderley on the injured reserve. In a corresponding move, they are activating offensive tackle Russell Okung, the team announced on Saturday.

The Bolts’ second-round selection has been dinged up with a hamstring issue since earlier this summer. He played the first four weeks of the regular season, primarily on special teams, but he hasn’t played since Week 4.

Coach Anthony Lynn said that it was looking like a redshirt season for the former Delaware product because he simply couldn’t get healthy and fully recover from the hamstring injury.

Okung is set to make his season debut on Sunday against the Bears. Lynn said Okung will play a limited number of snaps, rotating with Trent Scott.
