Chargers list 6 players on first injury report of 2019

The Chargers had their first practice of the week in preparation for the regular season opener against the Colts on Sunday.

The first practice brought out the first injury report of the 2019 campaign. On there weren’t many notable players or injuries that are worth monitoring closely in the coming days with the exception of a couple.

Here’s a look at Wednesday’s practice injury report for Los Angeles, courtesy of the team’s official Twitter account:

Defensive end Isaac Rochell was the only full participant out of the six players. Linebackers Denzel Perryman (ankle) and Drue Tranquill were limited today.

Coach Anthony Lynn said that Tranquill is “sore” from Thursday’s game against the 49ers, per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper. The former Notre Dame product should be ready to go on Sunday.

Linebacker Jatavis Brown (ankle), safety Roderic Teamer (hamstring) and cornerback Trevor Williams (quad) did not practice on Wednesday.

Brown got hurt in the third quarter of the preseason finale. He was able to walk to the locker room under his own power. Following the game, Lynn said that he was fine.

Teamer’s absence is most likely cautionary as well. The undrafted free agent missed the third preseason game against the Seahawks with a hamstring injury, but he played in the finale.

Williams has been the biggest mystery. He hasn’t made an appearance since before the preseason opener because of an undisclosed injury. From the report, it appears to be his quadricep. We don’t know the severity of the injury, but it’s unlikely that he will play Week 1 against the Colts.
