Chargers LB Jatavis Brown activated from PUP list

The Chargers linebacker competition is about to reach full capacity.

Los Angeles activated LB Jatavis Brown from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Tuesday, which allows him to resume on-field activities and participate in the preseason games as early as this Thursday against the Cardinals.

Brown suffered an ankle injury in the final week of the regular season against the Broncos and missed both playoff games as a result. He had been sidelined throughout minicamp and organized team activities.

Brown played on over 60 percent of the defensive snaps during his 15 appearances. The former Akron product posted a career-high 97 tackles (61 solo), four tackles for loss and one sack.

Going into the final year of his rookie contract, Brown will have to show that he can not only perform at a high level, but stay healthy throughout the 16-game slate if he wishes to remain on the team in 2020.

Brown has only played one full season, which came back in 2017.
