Chargers land impact defensive player in latest mock draft

The mock draft circuit is sure to change over the next couple weeks as the combine wraps up Monday and the Pro Day circuit continues all throughout March. In this recent mock draft from the OC Register, the Chargers land an impact player. No matter what position they play, that should be the goal. The Chargers have done a pretty good job of that over recent years. Derwin James, Joey Bosa, Mike Williams. All three of those players have contributed when healthy.

In this situation, Michigan’s Devin Bush was the Chargers selection at 28. Here’s what was said about the linebacker:

The knock on Bush is that he’s undersized, but at Michigan, he excelled at just about at everything he was asked to do on defense. A true, three-down enforcer at linebacker, Bush would be a perfect fit for a Chargers defense that doesn’t have a legitimate starting inside backer on the roster.

Bush weighed in at 234 pounds, so you don’t have to worry about him being too small. He also jumped over 40 inches in the vertical and ran a 4.44 40 yard dash. Talk about explosive. It doesn’t just stop with his athleticism, either. Bush happens to be a very good football player:
