Chargers’ Keenan Allen doesn’t hold back disagreement in WR rankings

Chargers wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams proved to be one of the league’s most dynamic duos in 2018. And while NFL.com gave the two some recognition in their 2019 top-11 wide receiver duos rankings, Allen did not agree one bit at all.

Allen went to his personal Twitter account to let out his opinion after seeing the rankings.

Allen, notorious for being active on social media, did not hold back by stating, “Are these facts? Opinions? Or most followers? Asking for a friend?” The sixth-year widout felt like him and his fellow teammate were snubbed.

NFL Media’s Gil Brandt slotted Allen and Williams at No. 10 overall, which left Allen wondering why they weren’t higher on the list.

A couple questionable tandems that went before them included Eagles’ Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson and Bengals’ A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. But Brandt thought differently.

Though Allen and Williams might’ve deserved a higher position, rankings like this don’t mean much are to be taken with a grain of salt, even though they’re most likely to stir disagreements.

In 2018, Allen and Williams combined for 140 receptions, 1,860 yards and 16 touchdowns. With an expected improvement to the offensive line, it’ll give quarterback Philip Rivers more time to find his top targets in 2019, setting them up for an even bigger season.
