Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for performance in the 17-16 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 8.
Bosa, a fourth-year player from Ohio State University, recorded seven tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and a handful of quarterback pressures. This was his second-consecutive game with at least two sacks.
Bosa was arguably the best player on the field for either team this past weekend and he continues to make his statement as one of the best defensive players in the NFL.
Joey’s brother, Nick of the San Francisco 49ers was given the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for his three-sack performance against the Carolina Panthers.
This is the first time in Bosa’s professional career being awarded the Player of the Week honor.
