Chargers hold on vs. Broncos for 21-13 victory

It wasn't easy _ is anybody surprised? _ but the Chargers found a way to win a game Thursday night, upsetting Denver, 21-13, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

The Chargers (2-4) dominated most of the game, but still struggled to put the Broncos (4-2) away, even after taking a 21-3 lead with under 12 minutes to play.

Denver cut the lead to 21-13 on a field goal with 27 seconds remaining, then recovered an onside kick. The victory wasn't secure until a Hail Mary pass by Trevor Siemian was knocked down by safety Dexter McCoil.

Philip Rivers completed 18 of 29 for 178 yards and the Chargers' lone touchdown, Melvin Gordon ran for 94 yards (48 on one play) and Josh Lambo kicked a career-high four field goals for San Diego.

The win ended the Chargers' losing streak against AFC West opponents at 10. The loss was Denver's first in 16 division road games.
