Brandon Staley is officially one-and-done with the Rams, but he won’t have to go far for his next job. The Chargers are hiring Staley as their head coach, replacing Anthony Lynn, who was fired this year.
The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #Chargers are hiring #Rams DC Brandon Staley as their new head coach, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. An impressive young candidate, he gets a prime job in LA.

Staley spent just one year with the Rams as their defensive coordinator, but it was a highly successful one. The Rams finished first in scoring defense and total yards allowed, also recording the second-most sacks in the league.
He’ll call the same stadium home next season with the Chargers, as the Rams also play at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
