The Los Angeles Chargers hired former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley to be their new head coach, passing over Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.
Though there was a report that Brian Daboll would be the favorite for the job, it appears that changed quickly. The Chargers interviewed Staley for a second time and then quickly hired him.
This means that we only have one more team to look out for when it comes to Eberflus. Even though he initially declined the interview with the Houston Texans, they apparently made a push and got him in the building. He interviewed with them last week.
So with the Jets and Chargers having passed over Eberflus, it remains to be seen if the Colts will lose their defensive coordinator. Anything can happen so this will be a storyline to watch over the next week.
