Chargers have been on wrong side of history against Dolphins

The Dolphins are off to an 0-3 start, and from the moves that the team has made and how they’ve been playing thus far, there are many that believe Miami is in full tank mode this season.

The Chargers are off to a rough start themselves, and are trying to find their groove again. They are set to travel to take on the Dolphins, but could Los Angeles fall victim to a trap game?

Historically, Miami has dominated the Chargers in the regular season.

The Dolphins lead the all-time series, 18-15. But the games played against each other as of late, and when the Bolts travel to the east coast offer some reason to be concerned.

The Chargers have won only one game in the last five appearances against the Dolphins, which dates back to 2013. Along with that, the Bolts are 4-10 when playing at Hard Rock Stadium.

Needless to say, the Chargers have been outmatched by the Dolphins.

Sure, changes have been made to both team’s rosters throughout the years, but the Chargers are notorious for coming up short in games that they’ve been heavily favorited.

Just two seasons ago in 2017, the Bolts were expected to beat the Dolphins in their home opener. But they fell short after kicker Younghoe Koo missed the game-winning field goal from 44 yards out.

Going into this weekend, Miami is 16.5-point underdogs, but it’s well within their reach to cover the spread. The Dolphins may not have the most stout starting lineup, but nor does Los Angeles after injuries have belittled their depth on both sides of the ball.

The Chargers have been on the wrong side of history with the Dolphins for quite sometime. The Week 4 matchup on the road is their chance to erase all of that and simply get back on track after a disappointing start.
