Chargers FS Nasir Adderley expected to make debut vs. 49ers

After missing the majority of training camp and all three preseason games due to a hamstring issue, rookie free safety Nasir Adderley is expected to make his debut on Thursday against the 49ers.

Coach Anthony Lynn said that the Chargers’ second-round selection will play a couple quarters.

Adderley has been hampered with a hamstring issue. Despite seeing the practice field a few times, coach Anthony Lynn elected to shut him down and let it heal rather than re-aggravating it.

In the small sample size that we got to see Adderley in July, he showed some true potential despite only getting his reps with the third-team.

Adderley was drafted to play free safety, but he also has the versatility to be moved around the field. It’ll be worth monitoring how defensive coordinator Gus Bradley deploys him and to see if there are no signs of the hamstring bothering him anymore.
