Chargers FS Nasir Adderley dealing with undisclosed injury

The last week of organized team activities continued for the Chargers on Monday. For the most part, they’ve managed to be a healthy group but it appears that they have a one key player that is dealing with a nagging, while the other is recovering from one.

When talking to the media, coach Anthony Lynn said that free safety Nasir Adderley and fullback Derek Watt are the main two on the injury list, according to ESPN’s Eric D. Williams.

Adderley didn’t practice due to an undisclosed injury. The specifics of it remain unclear, and he has no timetable for a return. The former Delaware product dealt with a hamstring injury prior to the draft, but he was fully cleared shortly after being selected in the second round.

This is never a great start to a rookie’s professional career, especially when we don’t have anymore to takeaway from it in terms of where the injury actually is or the severity of it.

Like any other coach, Lynn wants to make sure he’s 100 percent before stepping onto the field, but it becomes a headline of when that will be. In the meantime, Rayshawn Jenkins and Jaylen Watkins will likely receive more snaps in mandatory minicamp next week.

As far as Watt, he had been dealing with shoulder injury since before the AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Patriots. He was limited that game, and it appears that he’s getting the work done to ensure that’s completely healthy when training camp kicks off in late July.

The bottomline is that even though Los Angeles didn’t have a disastrous similar repeat of last year when tight end Hunter Henry tore his ACL during OTAs, they are too talented of a team with a lot on the line to be banged up prior to the regular season.
