The Los Angeles Chargers made a slew of coaching changes, including hiring a new offensive line coach on Monday. The one position that has yet to be fulfilled is the quarterbacks coach.
Earlier on, we listed 13 potential candidates that could fill the void. But one that might be gauging interest from the Bolts is former NFL quarterback and current ESPN football analyst Dan Orlovsky.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, multiple teams have called Orlovsky to get a feel for his interest in an offensive coaching job – a year after the Green Bay Packers reached out to him.
Schefter reports that Orlovsky said it would have to be a perfect mix of circumstances to get him to even consider leaving ESPN.
Orlovsky played for five different teams – Texans, Buccaneers, Lions, Rams and Colts – during his 13-year NFL career starting back in 2005. The former quarterback retired in 2017 and joined the network in 2018.
Orlovsky might’ve not had the most polished professional career, but he is a bright-minded individual, who has the football intelligence and make-up to work with whoever is under center for the Chargers.
