Chargers CB Trevor Williams signs tender

Chargers cornerback Trevor Williams signed his tender Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The tender will be worth $2.025 million for one year.

With Williams signing his tender, he will now report to voluntary workouts that start today.

Williams was solid for Los Angeles in 2018, recording 23 tackles (19 solo) and one interception in nine games. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury that kept him out for the majority of the season.

The acquisition of Williams doesn’t mean that selecting a cornerback will be off their to-do list in the draft. The team could look to invest in one on Day 3 to shore up the depth chart.

At the moment, he or Michael Davis projects to start on the opposite side of CB Casey Hayward entering the 2019 campaign.
