Chargers’ Anthony Lynn on loss: ‘Sorry for watching that damn game’

After watching his team deliver a lackluster performance and lose for the third time in the past five games on Sunday, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn delivered some words in frustration during his postgame press conference.

“Sorry for watching that damn game. We play like that, we won’t beat anybody. That team came here more desperate for a win, played harder, out-coached us. It was disappointing. But we have a resilient group, I think. We’ll see how we respond next week,” Lynn said.

To some, it’s the same words that they’ve heard before when Los Angeles has dropped games that they should have won. But the thing is, Lynn hasn’t had to deliver them in quite some time.

L.A. lost two games prior to today’s game, but they had not fallen victim to a trap game in a long while.

Injuries have been the one excuse that’s easy to resort to, but today, there were other reasons when analyzing why they lost this game. Poor play calling, bad clock management, horrid run defense, another underwhelming performance from the offensive line were among the notables.

The loss has fans losing optimism for the rest of the season. Currently 2-3, the Chargers are going to be getting into the meat and potatoes of their schedule. They should start getting some key players back soon, but the question becomes if they will overcome some of their woes from today.
