Chargers’ Anthony Lynn not comparing 1-2 start to 2018 season

The Chargers suffered defeat, which dropped them to a 1-2 record after the first three games of the season.

The loss had many fans pessimistic after expecting to start 3-0 or 2-1, while others remained optimistic after witnessing Los Angeles’ loss.

The reason for that is because this start is exactly the same to the 2018 season, where L.A. lost the first, won the second and lost the third game, putting them at a 1-2 record.

The Bolts then went on to a six-game winning streak before losing to the Broncos in mid-November before getting hot again, which resulted in a 12-4 record on the season.

Following the game, coach Anthony Lynn was reminded about the similar starts from this year to last year, but he wasn’t buying into.

“That means absolutely nothing to this team right here. That was a year ago. I do have an idea of how I think this team is going to respond at 1-2 , but right now, I can’t say we’re going to do what we did last year,” Lynn said.

Records aside, there is one major difference between the 2018 and 2019 and that’s health. The Chargers had the majority of their key players on the field then as opposed to now where injuries have belittled the team.

Los Angeles has favorable matchups the next four games, going up against the Dolphins, Broncos, Steelers, and Titans but after that is when it becomes a little bit more tricky, facing the Bears and Packers.

L.A. knows that they will have to muster out victories with what they have at the moment, as well as eliminating the penalties and miscues that have been hurting them in order to stay competitive in the divisional, let alone playoff race.
