Chargers’ Anthony Lynn on Nasir Adderley: ‘Looking like a redshirt year’

There’s been a lot of anticipation surrounding Chargers free safety Nasir Adderley, but it appears that’s going to have to come to a halt until next season.

On Wednesday, coach Anthony Lynn said he didn’t plan on it being a redshirt year for Adderley, but it’s kinda looking like it, per Orange County Register’s Gilbert Manzano.

Los Angeles’ second-round selection has spent the majority of his rookie campaign dealing with a hamstring injury, which originally became a notable issue this summer.

Adderley didn’t make his professional debut until the fourth week of preseason action, where he caught a lot of people’s attention with his outstanding performance.

Adderley played the first four weeks of the regular season with the majority of his snaps coming on special teams. But following the Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins, it appeared his hamstring became an issue again.

The former Delaware product hasn’t practiced nor played the past two weeks, but from Lynn’s comments, we may have to wait until 2020 to see Adderley back in action unless he starts making drastic progression.
