Chargers announce rookie jersey numbers for 2019 season

The Chargers announced the jersey numbers for their 2019 rookie class on Monday.

Defensive tackle Jerry Tillery will wear No. 99, free safety Nasir Adderley will wear No. 32, offensive tackle Trey Pipkins will support No. 79, linebacker Drue Tranquill will rock No. 49, quarterback Easton Stick will wear No. 2, linebacker Emeke Egbule will be in No. 51 and defensive tackle Cortez Broughton will own No. 91.

A couple takeaways from the jersey numbers is that Tillery will be wearing defensive end Joey Bosa’s old number. Bosa switched from No. 99 to 97 a few weeks back. Tillery wore this number throughout his collegiate career at Notre Dame.

The other takeaway is that Adderley will be supporting a former Chargers number in Eric Weddle. Weddle has been off the team for a few years now, but I know that it’s a mixed bag when it comes to supporters with him.
