That means we’re rounding up our favourite travel gadgets, and I’ve been handed the very fun task of reviewing the best power banks and best travel adapters out there right now.
I’ll be posting one review every day this week, and if you caught my thoughts on the Epicka TA-105 Max World Travel Adapter yesterday, you’ll know we’re off to a strong start. Today, it’s time for our first power bank, and things are looking pretty impressive.
The Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra is labelled as the world’s first 275W power bank. With that kind of claim, it’s definitely got a reputation to live up to, promising to charge up to six devices at the same time. As someone who’s constantly juggling gadgets, I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.
Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra review: price and availability
The Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra isn’t hitting store shelves just yet – and that’s largely because Chargeasap is still a fairly new player in the tech space. For now, you can snag it via Kickstarter, with prices starting at £134/$169, and you can choose between versions with either an Apple Watch or Samsung Watch charging pad to suit your setup.
The campaign originally launched on February 11th and was set to run for 60 days, but as of writing, it's still available. Unfortunately, shipping isn’t expected until August 2025, so you’ll need to be patient. There’s also no word yet on where it’ll be stocked once it's released more broadly.
Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra review: design and features
The Flash Pro Ultra comes packing a seriously beefy 25,000mAh battery, which is more than double what most travel power banks offer. It has 3 x USB-C ports (one of which is 140W, 1 x USB-A port, a magnetic wireless charger and a dedicated pad for your Apple or Samsung Watch. That means you can theoretically charge two MacBooks, two smartphones (one wirelessly), a tablet, and a smartwatch – all at once.
There's also a slick little OLED display that shows live charging info, like how much juice is left and how long it’ll take to top off. However, it doesn’t show wireless charging status, so you'll have to rely on the device screen for that.
Charging the Flash Pro Ultra itself is impressively fast, and I got it to 80% in around 30 minutes, and a full charge took just under an hour. However, when I had all four ports going at once, the battery drained noticeably fast. It makes you wonder if that headline 275W output is more of a theoretical max than something you’ll hit in real-world use.
Still, the 140W USB-C port is incredibly impressive, and I was able to charge my MacBook Pro to 50% in under 30 minutes using the original Apple cable.
It’s safe to say the Flash Pro Ultra is anything but lightweight, and at nearly 600g, it will definitely add some heft to your carry-on. On the plus side, it does come with a travel case, which is a thoughtful addition considering its weight.
It's also technically TSA-approved, but it sits right on the limit of what you're allowed to bring on a flight, so this is something to check with your specific airline.
Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra review: is it worth it?
As for performance, the Flash Pro Ultra is a seriously impressive travel companion. With a huge 25,000mAh capacity, 275W total output, and a smart selection of ports, it’s built for power users who need to keep multiple devices topped up on the move.
That said, it’s not without its quirks. It’s definitely on the heavier side, which can make it a bit of a burden for minimalist travellers. Whilst it charges fast, I also did notice the battery drained quickly when all ports were in use – not a dealbreaker, but worth keeping in mind.
Still, if you don’t mind the wait and want a power bank that truly does it all, the Chargeasap Flash Pro Ultra is absolutely worth keeping on your radar.
