Chaotic footage as gardai tackle youth after 'stool' thrown in violent brawl in Bray, Co Wicklow

Here is the shocking moment gardai were forced to tackle a youth to the ground during a violent brawl in Co Wicklow.

The man appears to be armed with a pole and can be seen exchanging blows with another group of men before officers step in and drag him to the floor.

The incident happened at around 9.40pm on Tuesday evening on Quinsborough Road in Bray.

And more chaotic footage of the scrap shows what appears to be a stool being thrown across the street as a fight spirals out of control.

Gardai revealed they were called to the scene at around 9pm after a group had gathered near the Dart station in the town.

The crowd dispersed but a short time later officers came across another group further down the street.

Following a public order incident, one youth was arrested and is currently being held at Bray garda station.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí from Bray responded to a call at approximately 9pm June 2 relating to a number of youths who were congregating at the Dart Station at Bray.

"Gardaí arrived at the scene and dispersed the youths.

"A short time later Gardaí met another group of youths following a public order incident, one youth was arrested and detained at Bray Garda Station for a public order offence, investigation is ongoing."
