Chaos surrounds the Tories and it's time they got their marching orders

Britain just got a sharp and bitter taste of what is to come.

What should be a cross-European effort to deal with coronavirus has been directed into a lorry park.

It’s the coming together of a global pandemic, a new strain of Covid and the stubborn arrogance of Boris Johnson’s Tory Government.

Isolated from neighbours, the UK is flailing.

A Tory-led UK Government which promised an “oven-ready” deal is now refusing to make life easier for anyone.

Johnson the cheerleader was left standing at his podium again last night insisting this is all fine.

So let’s take it all in order.

Faced with a campaign they might lose, the Tories pretended leaving the EU would be easy.

It wasn’t, it isn’t and it’s getting harder – all because of their actions.

Given advice about dealing with a pandemic, they hesitated, they listened to the fringe voices and they too often undermined public health.

Meanwhile, every opportunity to delay what is clearly a damaging split from Europe has been spurned.

Now there is a fast-spreading virus days before we leave with no trade deal.

We see chaos all around this Government and Prime Minister.

They are despised by Scots and held in contempt by our friends in Europe.

Nicola Sturgeon attempted to add a joke to proceedings by suggesting Johnson could get a hairbrush for Christmas.

At the earliest opportunity, the entire country needs to give him and the Tories their P45s.s.
