Gardai are on patrol in Cork city after a large gang of youths gathered for a "pre-planned raid" on a city centre store.
It's understood that the potential raid, at a sports store on Cook Street, had been arranged for some time.
"Organisers" had asked participants to meet on Winthrop Street and they were told to wear all black clothing with a balaclava and gloves.
The chilling plan also said that they only had one minute to "yam that shop" and that partaking is at your own risk, CorkBeo reports.
People were told not to come if they couldn't run and not to wear uniform.
Crowds were seen on Cook Street outside JD Sports and Gardai were manning the main entrance to the shop.
Garda patrol cars and vans were seen on Patrick Street and Oliver Plunkett Street.
A garda spokesman told the Irish Mirror extra resources were deployed after officers were made aware of a potential incident.
He added that no crimes were committed and gardai continue to patrol the area.
He said: "Additional resources were deployed to the area to prevent any incident occurring.
"No offences have been disclosed in the area. Gardaí continue to patrol the area currently."
