Chaos for commuters as Edinburgh Bus Station closed due to falling masonry

Falling masonry has forced Edinburgh  Bus Station to close to all passengers.

Bus companies confirmed the closure on social media at around 7am today.

They warned passenger that all journeys have been affected by the closure to the station.

Stagecoach East Scotland said wrote:  "All Edinburgh services will drop off and pick up at St Andrew Square until further notice".

Scottish Citylink tweeted: "Please be advised that Edinburgh Bus Station is currently closed due to falling masonry. Northbound services will now pick up from South Queen Street Gardens and 900s will pick up from North St David's Street."

Strong winds are currently hitting parts of the city ahead of another weekend of miserable weather across Scotland.
