Chaos as 'more than 100 people' turn up to 'out of control' house party - six people were taken to hospital after things turned nasty

More than 100 people reportedly turned up to a house party in Trafford before violence flared and six people were taken to hospital.

Police were called to Church Road in Flixton at around 1.15am on Sunday.

following what a spokeswoman described as a 'disturbance'.

GMP said none of their injuries were life-threatening. All but one of them have been released from hospital.

A house on the busy stretch of road close remained taped off with a police van parked outside on Sunday evening.

Neighbours said there was a house party at the property on Saturday, which quickly got 'out of control'.

One resident said there were 'at least 100' people at the house in the hour leading up to police arriving.

"It was chaos, out of control", he said.

"There must have been 100 people there, they were spilling onto the street.

"The music was pumping, but it was dimly lit so you could just see heads bopping about."

The man said he wanted to ask guests to turn the music down, but felt 'intimated'.

He said he saw broken glass and nitrous oxide cannisters strewn across the street.

"Even before it kicked off, you knew something was brewing as you could hear shouting," the man added.

"But it was when two ambulances arrived with their blues and twos on you knew something serious had happened.

"There was loads of police, at least five or six cars.

"I've got kids and it's pretty worrying that this is happening literally on your doorstep."

Another resident said she received a note to say there was a party planned and that she could hear 'loud music' before the sirens of the ambulance and police cars.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
