Chantelle Cameron believes she would beat Katie Taylor and would take fight on a day's notice

Chantelle Cameron believes she would be "too strong" for Katie Taylor and says she is ready to fight the undisputed lightweight champion on a day's notice.

The undefeated English boxer won two WBC final eliminators last year to secure her spot as the mandatory challenger for Taylor's belt and the super-lightweight title, which is currently held by Jessica McCaskill.

But Cameron, 29, has yet to get a title shot and is frustrated that she is not even being mentioned as a possible opponent for the Bray fighter next, while McCaskill's victory over Cecilia Braekhus at welterweight may lead to a rematch between the American and Taylor.

Cameron (12-0, 7 KOs)  is set to fight on Matchroom's card at the end of the month and she will be looking to put in another impressive performance to hopefully secure a world title fight.

She told The Irish Mirror: "I'm mandatory at lightweight. People want to see the fight [vs Taylor] and I want to be in the fight, but it's getting nowhere and it's frustrating.

"I'm the mandatory in two weight divisions and I've still not got a shot. Obviously McCaskill has moved up and beat Cecilia Braekhus and you're just trying to get an opportunity.

"I've done my mandatories, I won them in two weight divisions and I'm still not getting an opportunity. It's just frustrating now."

She added: "I was watching Sky Sports and they were going through her [Taylor] potential opponents and I wasn't mentioned. They're forgetting the mandatory and I'm ranked number two in that division too.

"They're just brushing past me. I'm not a mouthy person, but I feel like I'm having to make a bit of noise because I want the fight.

"Obviously Delfine deserved the rematch. If McCaskill doesn't get the opportunity to fight Katie, I don't know how many opponents they are going to put in front of me before Katie. I've made it perfectly clear now that I want to fight Katie."

Cameron believes she is a similar fighter to Persoon, but says she is "a little cuter" with her style and "more technical".

Predicting how a bout between her and Taylor would go, the Northampton fighter said: "I'm not just saying it because it's me, but I think it would be a good fight.

"It would be a good fight for the fans as well because I think our styles would just be exciting.

"I think I'd be too strong for Katie with my work rate. I feel like I'm very similar to Delfine, but I'm a little cuter with my style. I'm a bit more technical and I can actually box.

"People seem to think I'm just a brawler, but I've proven I can box so I feel like I'd be too strong for Katie. My work rate would be too much pressure for her. I'm a better boxer than Delfine and Delfine gave her a massive problem."

But Cameron isn't confident that she will ever get a shot at the 2012 Olympic gold medalist and feels as though she is being avoided.

She added: "In all honesty, I don't think I'm ever going to get this Katie fight because I feel like I'm just being avoided now.

"If it was going to happen, I'd fight her tomorrow. I don't care when it is.

"Katie Taylor is everyone's target. Everybody wants to fight Katie because she's such an amazing boxer. What she's done for women's boxing is incredible, but I feel like if you think you can beat her then you want to be in that fight."
