Channing Tatum lands 90210 house with Hollywood history

Feb. 19--Actor Channing Tatum of "Foxcatcher" and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, have bought a house in Beverly Hills for $6 million, The Times has confirmed.

Clad in dark shingles and accented with white trim, the Cape Cod-inspired home was built in 1950. Set on more than an acre, the gated house features an attached guesthouse on the basement level with a separate entrance.

Double-height ceilings, tall windows and dark hardwood floors are among interior details. A formal living room, dining room, family room, office/library, media room/gym, six bedrooms and six bathrooms are within the 4,835 square feet of living space.

Verandas, patios and balconies extend the living space outdoors, where a swimming pool, spa and outdoor fireplace are set amid mature trees and landscaping.

Tatum, 34, put his dancing skills to use in the 2006 film "Step Up" and went on to star in "Magic Mike" (2012) and the "Jump Street" films.

Dewan-Tatum, 34, is also an actress and dancer. She has been in the series "Witches of East End" (2013-14), "American Horror Story" (2012) and "The Playboy Club" (2011).

Former owners of the property include "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher, reported Variety, which broke the news of the home purchase. She bought the place from David Soul of "Starsky Hutch" fame for $925,000 in 1984.

The house last changed hands in 2001 for $4.425 million.

Mauricio Umansky, Farrah Aldjufrie and Eduardo Umansky of the Agency were the listing agents for the sale, which closed outside of the Multiple Listing Service.
