Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson roast ‘ball hog’ LeBron James

The Lakers are falling apart, and after another ugly loss at home on Wednesday night, the organization might want to start embracing the idea of tanking for Zion Williamson.

Midway through a loss to the Nuggets, LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan for fourth place on the all-time scoring list – a special moment that was sullied by the Lakers’ general trajectory in the final half of the season. James got emotional on the sideline after passing Jordan, but quickly had to get back to chipping away at a double-digit deficit.

Two players who aren’t impressed by the milestone? James’ former Cavaliers teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, who playfully roasted LeBron prior to the game.

Channing Frye: “I think it’s a huge accomplishment for a guy like him that’s shown his consistency of, uh, ball hogging. He was a huge ball hog.”

Richard Jefferson: “He never passed.”

Channing Frye: “Pass the ball.”

Richard Jefferson: “Right on. Why don’t you try and pass the all-time assist leaders? Why don’t you try to pass John Stockton instead of trying to pass Kareem? Can you do that?”

Channing Frye: “Come up off the rock, buddy. Dribbling the air out of it. It’s ridiculous. It took him long enough. What is this, 19 years?”

Richard Jefferson: “It took him years! God, if I kept playing, I would have passed people too.”

Channing Frye: “If I just shot 14, 15 times a game….. Anyway, congrats man, you deserve it. You suck.”

Richard Jefferson: “It couldn’t have happened to a better guy. Except for me or him.”

To be fair to LeBron, he recently became the only player in NBA history to reach the all-time top 10 in both points and assists. He surpassed Andre Miller on the assist list earlier this season, and could pass Gary Payton and Isiah Thomas next year.
