Channel 5 Coastguard captures the moment mother and son are rescued at the top of Snowdon

An unwell mother and her eight-year-old son were rescued from Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) during the latest episode of Coastguard: Every Second Counts. On the Sunday, July 9 episode of the Channel 5 show His Majesty’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) are called to the scene after the child suffered appendicitis and no sooner had they arrived, the mother had her own health problems.

The coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon was confronted with hordes of people on the mountainside and had to navigate over them as its crew tried to land, North Wales Live reports. The ultimately successful operation attended by emergency services on April 8 features in the new Channel 5 documentary series about the vital work of coastguards around the UK.

The crew help the child and his mother who says she suffers from "flicker vertigo." Let us know in the comments if you’ve been watching Coastguard: Every Second Counts.
