Channel 4 viewers are all saying the same thing about Gogglebox not being on

Channel 4 show Gogglebox was axed from the Friday night schedule on Friday, October 21 to make way for a special episode of Friday Night Live. Friday Night Live was back on screens to celebrate 40 years of Channel 4.

Normally Gogglebox is aired at 9pm on a Friday, featuring the great families that viewers know and love including Welsh couple Dave and Shirley. But when fans tuned in at 9pm they were met with a comedy blast from the past, comedian Ben Elton laying in to the Tory Party on the one-off reboot of live comedy entertainment show, Friday Night Live.

But while some viewers enjoyed Elton again taking to task the Conservative Government, many viewers were not impressed that their favourite show was missing and have taken to Twitter to air their thoughts.

One said: "@Channel4 Extremely disappointed that #gogglebox on Friday night that has been replaced with this shower #fridaynightlive Turning over." Another added: "Not happy about #Gogglebox being moved to Saturday night this week. Why couldn't they move Ben Elton's show to later on in the evening? (like at a time I'll be in bed)."

A third said: "I'd rather be watching Gogglebox #FridayNightLive. and: "Friday nights without #gogglebox just feel wrong."

A fifth said: "Have Channel 4 really ditched #gogglebox for this #FridayNightLive crap." Gogglebox fans were not impressed the show had been swapped with Friday Night Live, with many not finding Friday Night Live funny or entertaining.

Gogglebox will be aired on Saturday, October 22 at 9pm before returning to its Friday night slot on Friday, October 28. In a statement shared on social media, Gogglebox wrote: "Brand new Gogglebox this Saturday (not Friday)! Don't worry, we'll be returning back to the usual Friday night fun next week! 9pm on Channel 4."

It comes as more details on S4C's new Welsh language Gogglebox series are released. The new programme, which is aptly called Gogglebocs Cymru, will be hosted by Welsh comedian Tudur Owen. You can read more about Gogglebocs Cymru here.
