Channel 4 show Wedding in Lockdown looking for couple to get married on TV

Channel 4 are looking for a couple to get married during lockdown for a bizarre new TV show.

Last month we revealed the broadcaster had commissioned the programme - Wedding In Lockdown - as one of a number coronavirus inspired shows and now producers are looking for the pair to get hitched in front of the nation.

A rallying call for the lucky couple reads: "Have you had to postpone or cancel your wedding due to Covid-19?

"Are you unsure whether to cancel or not? Was the initial date you chose important to you?

"Channel 4, with the help of a celebrity cupid and some special guests, are looking to bring a much needed Wedding back to life and offer one special couple the opportunity to have a Virtual Ceremony they’ll never forget – in their own home, with family and friends watching and celebrating online."

Wedding in Lockdown, initially thought to be called Lockdown Wedding Live, was the subject of much social media speculation at the end of March, but confirming the rumours were indeed true, Channel 4 said: "Channel 4 will also invite viewers to share in the wedding celebration of a couple who have had to cancel their big day plans in Lockdown Wedding Live, with Fred Sirieix (First Dates) overseeing proceedings for the whole country to enjoy."
