Channel 4's A Place in the Sun sees 'hard to please' couple leave with nothing

A Place in the Sun host Scarlette Douglas had a nightmare after failing to impress two potential buyers with a single property.

Friday's instalment of the Channel 4 show saw the presenter joined by Pam and Steve on the Costa Blanca in Spain. The couple, from Wirral, are recently married and sought out a home to start a new life in.

With a budget of £155,000, they were hoping to find a three-bedroom and two-bathroom home with plenty of outdoor space for Steve to play the drums.

Property number one had four bedrooms and two bathrooms, but Steve said its pool felt a bit "enclosed". Noise from nearby traffic was also an issue, and the villa was definitely ruled out as Scarlette said: "You're hard to please, aren't you?"

Sadly, things continued in this vein. While Pam declared the next property "a dream", she then said she'd like an en-suite. Steve also said he'd like a "bigger bathroom".

Faults found with other properties included dated décor and close proximity to the neighbours. While the final home, a three-bedroom villa with plenty of space and stunning views, did seem to impress.

Pam and Steve gave Scarlette some bad news on their final day in Spain. After thinking it over, they admitted they would not be putting in an offer on any of the homes they'd visited.
