Channel 4's A Place in the Sun fans threaten to switch off just minutes in

A Place in The Sun viewers tuned into Channel 4 again on Friday afternoon for the week's final property search in paradise.

Presenter Danni Menzies was in Gran Canaria with Mark and Peter who have been visiting the "dream" island for years. The pair were looking for a holiday home that they and their family could enjoy.

With a tight budget of £80,000, Danni admitted she had a challenge on her hands. Still, she managed to show five properties to show Mark and Peter.

But as viewers at home were shown shots of the beach, a busy town centre and long stretches of the island's coast, many threatened to switch the programme off.

It comes as the UK is experiencing a spell of hot weather, with fans clearly feeling the heat. Taking to Twitter, Rachel said: "Might have to switch #APlaceInTheSun off and watch something a bit colder".

Beckie said: "I'd prefer a place in the Antarctic atm but here we go" [sic]. Pete said: "Wish we had the cool breeze you get in the sun when on holiday." DJ Fyne said: "Used to love the sun but even too much for me today...."

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
