Channel 4 prison drama Screw starts filming new series in Glasgow

Fans of prison drama Screw are in for a treat as producers have started filming a new series of the Channel 4 show in Glasgow.

Cameras started rolling at Kelvin Hall in the city today (Monday) where the cast will be joined by Lee Ingleby as Morgan, a new prisoner with a hidden agenda.

The team of embattled prison officers played by Nina Sosanya, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Faraz Ayub, Stephen Wight, Ron Donachie, and Laura Checkley will all be returning.

Other new faces on the wing include Barnaby Kay playing the new Governor; Leo Gregory playing prisoner Reeks and David Judge as prisoner Hemmings.

Gemma Boswell, Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, says: "We’re excited to be back in Glasgow to start filming Series 2 of Screw and to welcome Lee Ingleby who is a fantastic addition to our brilliant cast.

"Series 2 promises even more drama, intrigue and humour on C Wing and we can’t wait to get started."

Sarah Brown, Creative Director of Drama at STV Studios, added: "It’s fantastic to be back on set with our brilliant team and cast on Screw. Writer and Creator Rob Williams’ incredible scripts promise even more danger and high-stakes drama for our team of officers – and we are thrilled to welcome back our stellar cast and introduce some brilliant new faces to the show, including the wonderful Lee Ingleby".
