Channel 4 looking for true crime fanatics for new murder mystery series

Channel 4 is calling upon murder mystery fans for their new programme Murder Island.

Production company STV Studios are urging people who have the nose to sniff out clues, successful at sleuthing and gifted with the skill of deduction to apply to take part in the upcoming series.

The show will see teams of two take on cases and will be armed with police resources as they compete to "identify the suspect and bring them to justice."

A casting call, posted to the STV website, reads: "DO YOU THINK YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO SOLVE A MURDER MYSTERY?

"ARE YOU A TRUE CRIME FANATIC WITH A PASSION FOR SOLVING CRIME?

"ARE YOU AN ARMCHAIR DETECTIVE?

"STV Studios are making a brand-new television series for Channel 4 and are looking for teams of ordinary British people to try their hand at becoming detectives to solve a murder mystery.

"We are looking for teams of two to take on the case. The civilian ‘detectives’ will have police resources at their disposal – pathologists, forensic scientists, psychologists etc.

"They will be competing to see if they can be the first to identify the suspect and bring them to justice.

"Before applying please make sure you have a team of two that are interested. This could be couples/friends/colleagues/family members etc."

People keen to get involved will also be asked to upload a picture and video as part of the application, which has a deadline of Sunday 28 March.

It is thought that successful applicants will take part in Covid safe filming in May.
