Gogglebox fans have been left disappointed this week as stars on the show, including popular couple Tom and Julie Malone, shared news about the series end date. The latest episode of the popular Channel 4 show aired on Friday, May 20, but the end of the latest run of programmes is coming to an end.
As fans settled down to discover just what the armchair critics thought about shows including Eurovision, Drag Me to Hell, The Repair Shop and Beat The Chasers, Tom Snr and Julie were revealing filming news. Taking to their Instagram account the couple reminded fans that the show would be airing that evening. But then Tom went on to say: "We're getting near the end of the series now."
He said: "Julie is throwing out these big words. I said it's the second to last night, Julie is saying 'what'?" Julie then added: "It's the penultimate night."

Tom Snr and Julie appear on the show alongside son Sean. They're sometimes joined by daughter Vanessa, reported Manchester Evening News. Adding that the upcoming show will be the final episode in this series.
In the Instagram post, Tom Snr joked about Julie's comment. He said: "This is education for you, does nothing does it." And while their followers were quick to have a giggle at the pair, who had donned matching blue t-shirts for their video, they were also sharing their disappointment at the popular, Bafta award-winning series coming to an end.
One fan said: "No I can't believe it's nearly the end of the series. Friday night is Gogglebox night." Another commented: "Hate it when Gogglebox is no longer on on a Friday night."
Another said: "Love the Malones.... Will be gutted when Gogglebox ends." And someone else added: "Already, no. Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next series. Love you all."
The Malones' fellow Gogglebox stars Abbie Lynn and Georgia Bell also confirmed they were finishing up filming on the hit show. Sharing a boomerang of the pair to her Instagram Story, Abbie said: "Last one of the series let's goooo." Georgia, who is expecting her first child, also echoed Abbie's post on her own page, writing: "Filming the last ep of the series."
