Channel 4 has acquired Important Things with Demetri Martin, the sketch show from the US comedian who has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Flight of the Concords.
The seven-part series of 30-minute episodes will air on E4 from this autumn. The show has been successful in the US, airing on Comedy Central, with a second season set to premiere early next year.
Martin has appeared on satirical news programme The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in his own segment, Trendspotting. The comedian's own show is produced by Stewart's Busboy Productions.
He also appeared in the final show of the first series of the Flight of the Conchords as Demetri the keytar player.
"Demetri Martin's new show has proved to be a hit in the US and his bizarre sense of humour has garnered quite a following," said the Channel 4 head of acquisitions, Gill Hay.
Martin is also starring in the title role of director Ang Lee's new film Taking Woodstock.
