Channel 4 adverts 'break' forcing show off air and confusing viewers

Channel 4 viewers were left baffled after adverts for a new TV series appeared to 'break'.

Several technical difficulties were reported as Love It or List It started to air at 8pm.

Rather than being greeted by Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer, viewers were instead shown a blue screen with transmission details.

But when the show finally started, Channel 4 was hit by further glitches, with an error card appearing on screen instead of adverts, at the start of every commercial break. reports ChronicleLive.

This led one frustrated viewer to take to Twitter and ask: "Are you alright @Channel4?

A second blasted: "Bloody ell @Channel4 having a mare tonight!" and, also picking up on the series of glitches, a third wrote: " @Channel4 having problems tonight not being able to show adverts.

"They're clearly having an issue, but it's quite nice not being interrupted every 15 minutes!"

Another viewer tweeted: "U OK Channel 4 hun?" and a fifth posted: "This must be the first major breakdown for Channel 4 that I can ever recall."

At the time of writing, Channel 4's own Twitter account made no reference to the difficulties, with their last post one from three hours earlier about the forthcoming Tokyo Paralympics.

Viewers speculated that the glitches would have a knock-on effect for the rest of the night's schedule, with one tweeting: "Serious transmission problems occurring this evening on Channel 4. No adverts so it looks like all programmes are now 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time."

Guessing how advertisers would be feeling another mused: "Channel 4 is going to get a few cranky calls from advertisers tomorrow."
