A Place in the Sun host Laura Hamilton was left red-faced as she had to tell potential buyers they couldn't have their dream home in a first for the Channel 4 show.
The property expert was on hand to help Doc and Lucia in their quest for the perfect home abroad. The couple chose to begin their search in the whitewashed town of Alora in southern Spain.
Doc and Lucia said they want to rent out their home in Devon while they live in sunnier climes for half of the year. The married couple wanted a property they could use as a base while backpacking.

First up was a two-bedroom townhouse in inland Andalucia. On the market for just over £111,000, Laura warned the pair before they entered that the owner had just received an offer and was considering it.
Doc and Lucia loved the home's "light and airy" bedrooms and its "cosy" living space. They said it was a contender but it could be bettered with more outdoor space and a nice view.
Property number two was worlds apart from the previous home, with stunning mountain views and a huge garden. But Doc and Lucia said it was too far from shops, bars and restaurants.
The third and fourth properties were not to their liking, but property number five really wowed the married couple. The four-bedroom townhouse was on the market for just over £111,000 and came with a roof terrace and a plunge pool, as well as stunning views. It had an open plan living space, and a separate kitchen.
After taking some time to think, Doc and Lucia told Laura they wanted to put an offer in on the final property, as it was "pretty perfect". But the presenter had some bad news.
Laura told them the house was in fact being offered by various agents, and that one agent had been informed a family member had told someone else they could have the home. Lucia broke down as she heard the news.
Laura said: "I'm so, so, sorry. This has never ever, ever, happened before". Thankfully it later came to light this deal wasn't going ahead, and Doc and Lucia could purchase their dream townhouse after all.
