Changing Rooms fans were left baffled as a pair of designers painted a large, abstract 'mud stain' onto the wall of a contestant's home.
During last night's show, Amanda from Leeds asked for a Scandi makeover in a bid to switch-up her mundane living room.
Designers Russell Whitehead and Jordan Cluroe were assigned to create something spectacular, and as Amanda was a lover of cats, they ended up creating a feline-themed room, adding a huge 'abstract mural' to the wall as a finishing touch.
As they watched it all unfold from home, viewers took to Twitter to criticise the makeover.

One shared: "When you think they cannot possibly get any worse, they paint giant skid marks on the wall."
Another penned: "They're literally painting a giant s**t stain on this woman's wall."
"Aye cheers #ChangingRooms, big jobby along the walls and ceilings, just what I wanted, thanks," a third person wrote.

Amanda turned to trusted designers Russell, Jordan and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen for her lounge transformation.
The trio described their design as 'cool, Californian, Kardashian-like' and used a palette of neutral colours consisting of baby pink, brown and cream to bring the room together.

When introduced to the new living room, host Anna Richardson was baffled by the wall stain, and tried to hold her laughter in.
"The abstract mural, exploding up the wall and onto the ceiling, looks great," she said.
During the design process, Russell and Jordan referred to the mural as a 'dirty protest' and couldn't stop giggling as they practised the artwork outside.
Despite it not being up to fans' tastes, it seemed perfect for Amanda as she got emotional when seeing her new room for the first time.
"Oh my God, it's not the same house. It's absolutely beautiful, it's amazing," she said.

Her daughter Rachel added: "It's so so nice. It's just what she deserves."
The mother-daughter duo insisted they liked the brown 'swirl', with Amanda adding: "I can't take it all in."
Changing Rooms returned to screens on August 18 after a 25-year hiatus, with Anna Richardson as the host.
*Changing Rooms airs Wednesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
