Changing in VIP boxes, extra tests - the issues currently facing Premier League and Newcastle

Newcastle United players could find themselves changing in executive boxes at away grounds when football returns.

According to the Daily Mail , clubs with small changing rooms may need to use VIP spaces and executive boxes as alternative changing rooms.

There are fears that players won't be able to remain a safe distance from each other when changing in some small dressing rooms with Crystal Palace and Burnley the two clubs highlighted.

Decisions are also set to be made in the coming weeks on whether players will be allowed to stay at hotels on the eve of games.

The Premier League still have plenty of phase three issues to work through, though to reach that point, the recently started phase one (group training), as well as phase two (contact training) must be completed.

One of the issues currently facing clubs is the number of tests.

Top-flight clubs currently have enough tests for 40 players and staff twice per week.

But clubs are keen to use younger players or fringe members of the squad to complete proper training each week, and that would require more tests.

The report claims some clubs may buy extra tests themselves or sideline some members of coaching staff to ensure all players are tested.

For the most part, it seems players are happy to train, but there are set to be problems when it comes to playing games again.

According to Sportsmail, players who are out of contract this summer could demand extra money amid fears an injury could cause them real issues when they go looking for a deal elsewhere for next season.

Beyond the financial issues with players, the police are also said to be demanding more concrete plans from clubs on what measures they plan to put in place to stop fans gathering around the stadiums on matchdays.
