Changes to opening hours of tips in Nottinghamshire

Tips in Nottinghamshire have extended their opening hours as the days get longer heading into spring and summer.

The county's tips remain open during the national lockdown, but in line with the Government's 'Stay at Home' guidance the county council advises residents to only visit a recycling centre if it is essential.

Opening hours are now from 8am to 6pm, seven days a week.

Cars, cars with trailers, pickups and vans are permitted onsite.

From April to September, opening hours will be extended further from 8am to 8pm.

Nottingham City Council's recycling centre off Redfield Road is also now open from 8am to 6pm seven days a week.

The council said: "If you are visiting the recycling centre towards the end of the day, please allow yourself plenty of time to ensure you are allowed into the site.

"All vehicles need to have entered the site, unloaded their waste and left the site by closing time. Generally, the last admittance is half an hour before close."

Vans/car/MPV derived vans with a GVW above 2,495kg can only access the centre after 1pm until close on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
