Changes coming to Titans light blue jerseys in 2019

The Tennessee Titans light blue jerseys will have a slightly modified look in 2019.

According to Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk, the numbers on the jerseys will be 3/4 of an inch larger in the coming season.

Strunk says she herself had issues seeing the numbers last season.

“I don’t know if you noticed it, maybe you didn’t, but on the light blue jerseys, the numbers were hard to see,” Strunk said on Tuesday. “My vision up close is horrible, but far away it is perfect and I had problems.”

“So I addressed it immediately with the league.”

No changes will be made to the the the numbers on the team’s navy blue and white jerseys.

The Titans wore the light blue twice last season — once in the season opener against the Miami Dolphins, and another time against the Jaguars in Week 3.

The team opted for other uniform choices outside of those weeks though, because of issues seeing the numbers in general and on film.

The minor tweak to the jerseys has been tested, and they should be more visually appealing in 2019.

“It is not going to be a huge change,” Strunk said. “The fans that have bought jerseys will be happy. It’s just going to be wider, thicker numbers. They retested it and we’ll be able to see them. We needed to fix that.”
