Change at Tesco's tills which shoppers will notice during their next shop

Supermarket giant Tesco has introduced yet another another changes across its stores which aims to prevent further spread of coronavirus.

Back in March it was announced the contactless payment limit would be increasing from £30 to £45 from April and would be rolled out in phases across stores which remain open during lockdown.

It was hoped this would provide a safer way to shop for customers doing larger shops to pay for their items instead of touching the pin pads or using cash.

On a recent visit to our local Tesco stores we were told by staff that the supermarket giant is now offering this higher limit to all customers with the change coming in last week.

This means the next time you visit your local Tesco store you'll be able to pay contactless up to £45.

This is just one of the ways stores are helping to prevent the virus spread other measures include clear screens placed at checkouts at Tesco, Asda and Morrisons to protect staff.

Two metre marking guides are also in place across all supermarkets indicating where shoppers should stand in order to continuing meeting the social distancing guidelines
