Chanelle Hayes speaks candidly about her reasons for having a hair transplant

Chanelle Hayes has spoken candidly about her reasons for having a hair transplant.

The former Big Brother star has been receiving treatment at Manchester’s Farjo Hair Institute after thinning out on her forehead.

The 32-year-old, who appeared on the Channel 4 reality show in 2007, endured 12 hours undergoing the procedure, saying it is the “best decision” she has ever made.

In 2016 she first revealed that years of yo-yo dieting had left her hair looking 'thin' - and now she has decided to do something about it.

The Quay Street salon tweeted out a photo of the TV personality sitting in a chair having her new hairline marked out, before the treatment began.

Chanelle retweeted the post, saying: "Best decision I ever made. Can’t wait to see my results over time. Thank you so much @FarjoHair ."

She told Closer magazine: "I always hated my forehead, but my weight gain and loss has really receded my hairline and thinned out my hair.

"Gaining weight also changed my face.

"So this transplant is just one thing to get me on my way to feeling better about myself."

Chanelle - who has been open with her weight struggles with her social media followers - has seen her weight swing dramatically between a size six and a size 20 since being on BB.

She was also warned by doctors that she could become diabetic if she didn't adopt a healthier lifestyle.

Chanelle is determined to do it correctly now, with a proper healthy eating plan and exercise.

She continued: "I think my weight will always go up and down, but I've learned now that my health is paramount. I want long-lasting results, not just a quick fix.

"I'm currently focusing on healthy eating and lots of protein. I had problems with my back when I was bigger, so now I'm exercising in a low impact way, like walking.

“I'm training to do the 100km Lake District Walk later this year for charity."
