Chandler Hutchison’s meaningless late-game Bulls run led to a horrible bad beat

The Los Angeles Lakers were down for a while to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night before the bench picked things up and help the Lake Show go on a 29-4 run. Eventually, they emerged victorious, 118-112.

Except bettors were furious at that outcome. For many of them, the spread was Lakers minus-7. And thanks to Chandler Hutchison, their nights were ruined.

Let’s go to the fourth quarter. The game was pretty much out of hand in garbage time, with the Lakers up 118-107 and under a minute to go. Hutchison made a layup and missed a free throw to cut it to a nine-point lead. Kyle Kuzma missed a three … and that lead to this with 18.8 seconds to go:

That’s a three! And of course the Lakers dribbled out the clock, winning by six. What a bad beat!

Brutal.
