CHANDIGARH: A delegation of college teachers of government and aided colleges in Chandigarh met BJP leader Sanjay Tandon on Thursday to demand UGC, the Seventh Pay Commission and other retirement benefits on the pattern of other Union territories of the country.
Chandigarh Govt College Teachers Association general secretary Manoj Kumar said that recent judgments of the Punjab and Haryana high court clearly state that all higher education institutions in Chandigarh are fully funded by the central government and thereby these teachers should be given these benefits on the pattern of the Centre.
