CHANDIGARH: In a significant reshuffle, municipal commissioner Anandita Mitra has transferred three dozen superintendents and senior assistants working in the various departments and wings of the municipal corporation (MC), Chandigarh. Sources said more such transfers are likely in the coming days.
According to information, majority of these transferred employees of the civic body authority were posted in their respective seats for many years. Since the superintendent and senior assistant are crucial posts and deal in policy matters, sources said transfers are being seen a major step to improve the working of the civic body.
“At present, only superintendents and senior assistants have been transferred from one department to the other. But chances are there that more employees of the other ranks may also be transferred in the coming days. The list of transferable employees is being prepared,” sources added.
Significantly, few days ago, the Chandigarh administration had also transferred majority of the superintendents.
The order in this regard were issued by the Dharam Pal, adviser to the administrator. And now this move of transfer of superintendents and senior assistants in the MC has come just few days after that.
